Elizabeth Stratford

ORGAN

Elizabeth undertook initial organ lessons during her sixth form studies with the organist at Leeds Cathedral, Julie Crosby.

After leaving school, she concentrated on other areas of music and returned to studying the organ towards the end of her undergraduate degree. On commencement of her postgraduate degree she studied the organ with Dr Gordon Stewart and majored in liturgical performance as part of her final degree assessment. She was the recipient of a Thalben Ball Organ Scholarship and received occasional lessons from Dr Simon Lindley. Since her appointment at Arundel Cathedral in 2002, Elizabeth has given organ recitals locally but focused more on choir training and teaching in her role at the Cathedral.

Testimonial
"Elizabeth is a truly inspirational vocal coach who has been providing private singing lessons for our four daughters for just over a year. Three of our girls are also fully active members of Arundel Cathedral Choir, of which Elizabeth is Organist and Master of the Choristers. Our youngest is looking forward to joining the Choir when she comes of age. The confidence, discipline and desire she has instilled into our girls is truly exceptional. Factor into the equation Elizabeth's talents are fully backed by her exceptional and lengthy presentation of formal qualifications. As Parents, my wife and I feel awesome confidence in Elizabeth's tutoring and mentoring and feel absolutely blessed to have Elizabeth in our girls lives. Highly recommended."
